The construction of l' Empire State Building began in Mars from 1930 on the site from l' hotel Waldorf-Astoria Hotel old to 350 Fifth Avenue with the 34e Street. It was concluded 14 month later in May 1931. Conceived by the cabinet d' Shreve architects, Lamb & Harmon Associates, l' Worsen State Building, with 102 stories, was the most building of the world jusqu' with l' completion of the first tower of the World Trade Center in the Lower Manhattan in 1972...

DESCRIPTION:
Architects: Shreve, Lamb & Harmon Associates. Manufacturers: Starrett Brothers & Eken, Inc Height: 1.472 feet (448 meters) towards the d' beginning; antennas. 1250 feet (391 meters) of l' observatory 102e stage. 1.050 feet (320 meters) to the 86 E stages observatory. Volume: 37 million cubic feet. Surface site: 83860 square feet. Costs, including grounds: 40.948.900 $. Cost of the building alone: 24.718.000 $ (cost envisaged of 50 million dollars s' is not concretized because of the Great Depression)
Calendar of construction:
Excavation: Started January 22,1930, before the demolition of l' old hotel Waldorf-Astoria Hotel finished. Construction: Started Mars 17,1930. Tally increased at the rate of 4,5 stories per week. Cornerstone: Ugly by Alfred E. Smith, former governor of New York September 17, 1930. Completed masonry: November 13,1930. Grand opening: May 1,1931, by President Herbert Hoover, who pressed on a button in Washington, cd., to light the lights of l' building. Total time: 7 d' million; hours, 1 year and 45 workdays, including Sundays and bank holidays. Work Forces: 3.400 for the peak periods.
Construction materials:
Outside: limestone of l' Indiana and of granite, furnished with l' aluminium and l' steel chromium-nickel starting from the 6th stage at the top. Hall of l' Interior: Marble rich person ceiling, imported France, Italy, Belgium and Germany.
