Colisée is the most famous monument of ancient Rome. Its original name is Amphithéâtre Flavien. It was launched by l' Vespasien emperor between 70 and 76 after J. - C. and completed by his/her Titus son into 80 after JC. Colisée was devoted l' year after the death of Vespasien by Titus. They celebrated l' opening while holding the 100 days of dollars of plays. It was built on the site where Néron had had a large villa for itself. Vespasien wanted to rather build something for people than for him. It draws its popular name, Colisée, parce qu' it was built close to the place where Néron had set up a giant statue, or colossus of itself. It showed him that the god of the sun. It was with 100 feet top, and it was the largest bronze statue gilded in l' antiquity. He was then moved. One needed approximately 24 elephants to move it!...
