Josh d from Australia has taken apart an ipod mini unit and rebuilt the case using nothing but natural wood and screws. The design uses no stick and the click wheel is attached to the sensor via double sided tape.
Dislodging the unit from its normal encasement, he has inserted it into a covering of wood that has a front and back part held together with screws, while top and bottom with brass plates.

I was given a latest ipod mini for Christmas and I just couldn’t leave my trustworthy old mini to sit unused somewhere. So I determined to lastly try a wooden shell mod on him that I had wanted to do for a long time.

This product is not for sale but is still motivating to look at.
